Along with the Delegation of the European Union to the United States, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars was pleased to host the US launch of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Work Programme 2018-2020 on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Horizon 2020 is the European Union's Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, with a budget of €77 billion between 2014 and 2020 to support scientifically-excellent research, innovation, and technological development, through collaborative research projects as well as grants and fellowships to individuals. It is open to the world, so US researchers are very welcome to get involved.

Distinguished speakers included Robert-Jan Smits, Director General for Research and Innovation, at the European Commission; and Lisa Brodey, Director of the Office for Science and Technology Cooperation, U.S. Department of State.

This event provided an insight into the newly launched calls for proposals (solicitations) within the final Work Programme of Horizon 2020, and notably the opportunities for US researchers to cooperate with European partners.

This event is organized with support from the BILAT USA 4.0 Project.

I am just reading the h2020 guide, Information for Applicants, and it is 57 pages!!! WHY? Why it is so long?
Almost an hour video, but it doesn't give any information. It is just, they speak, smile and say nice words to each other. So useless.
