WW2 Ace in a Sabre

Squadron Leader and WW2 Ace, Major George Andrew Davis was the first American to become an Ace in 2 wars. He also did this spanning the propellors and jets eras. His WW2 experience helped him earn command of the 334th Fighter Squadron of the 4th Fighter wing in the Korean war. He excelled at the post, leading by example, and demanding strict discipline among his men. Under his leadership the squadron became one of the best battling for the Korean skies.
Davis grew to be so valuable that he became irreplaceable, it was protocol for Aces to be recalled back to the US, for their safety so they could teach their skills to the next generation of pilots, but Davis became so instrumental in his role that the Air Force couldn’t find anyone to take his place. And so, he remained fighting in Korea and seeing more action than ever. Just half a month after becoming an Ace, he became a Double Ace, claiming his 10th victory on December 13th.
But he met his end on February 10th, 1952 when providing cover for a group of F-84 Thunderjets across the infamous MiG Alley, where MiG patrols were common and numerous.
George Andrew Davis would be posthumously promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, as well as awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor and a Purple Heart for his valiant actions that day.

As a South Korean, I want to thank Major Davis for his service from the bottom of my heart. May he rest in peace. Bless his family with great happiness and good health. Thank you for sharing his story that many of us aren't aware of.

Littlefield fighting all those Migs off Davis all the way to the ground is insanely heroic.

Thanks for the heroic story of Davis. He could have turned tail when half of the wing had returned home and no one could blame him. However, his sacrifice saved the bombers.

You're animations are unmatched. As I'm sure you've heard before, they get better each video - it's true!

Such a heroic story of Davis, beautifully depicted by you all. Thank you and Godspeed Sabre heroes ~

The movement and flight is essentially Arcade mode in War Thunder.

However this is still a brilliant piece :D

The details of Yarnhub's animation keeps getting improving. Even the smallest details are so very accurate. The explosions and bullet tracers are so very detailed. Love it😊👌

I don’t know what to say man… these animations are golden and so is your storytelling. Whenever I see a notification that you’ve posted a new video it’s like opening a Christmas present.

Amazing. You should also do the INSANE story of British Korean War pilot Brian Ellis. The guy shot down a MiG while flying a RN piston-powered Hawker Sea Fury!

fighter pilots like him are a rare sight to see to become a ace more then once is not an easy task, but he made the mistake of staying on that last fighter plane and not braking away to gain speed.

The other day I met a 92 year old Korean war veteran, he served in the airforce since 1948 and went to okinawa in December of 1950, Korea was pushed to Busan by thay point. A Chinese landing ship was spotted and he successfully sunk it and received a metal for his service.

Bloody Hell, the first contact between the sides already blew me away.

The filmography and angles are on point, like war film standards. And the flow doesn't stop. The gunnery is as impressive as ever, and so is the voices of the characters and narrator.
The choice of stories has also always made clicking on a new video right away worth it.
Ye great campfire storytellers of troubled times, remember to take breaks too.

Hope gamer bread comes out soon.

My mom's second cousin flew the f-86 Sabers in Korea. He continued to fly during the Vietnam conflict from the early stages on. I'm not sure what he flew in Vietnam but he got some kills and ended up teaching at the War C ollege in Alabama his specialty was fighter tactics.
