The sugar/salt thing at 3:33 is so true!! Sugar in salty things brings out the salty flavour of the dish you're preparing, but without it being too salty (I phrased this quite confusingly, but I hope you get what I mean), meanwhile putting salt in desserts, kills the (at times) sickening sweetness of the dessert you are making, and makes it WAY better

I worked at a McD’s in college, but those McGriddle “buns” always came to the store pre-made (I think frozen, but it’s been over 15 years, so I could be mistaken). But they always looked like they were “injected” with syrup into the pancake, after the pancake was cooked. I couldn’t tell you for certain, though.

Side note: after working at McD’s and after all these years, I still have never had a McGriddle! LOL! I truly don’t know why I haven’t tried it, but I had this realization I hadn’t after seeing this vid.

For the batter portion of the recipe, try making crystallized maple syrup and crumble it up and add it to the bottom and top of the "pancake"

Yum! My mom still loves the breakfasts from McDonald's. Of course, it was a rare treat for my parents to treat me and my sister to McDonald's. But my sister and I liked the McGriddle with bacon more instead of sausage.
