Remember Flappy Bird? That horrifyingly difficult pixel game from the early aughts of the touchscreen revolution? The app whose addictive nature guilt-tripped its creator into removing it from the App Store? The meme that could have only conceivably existed in 2013? Well, it’s coming back! There’s even a trailer, waxing poetic about Flappy Bird’s time in the sun (and really featuring a lot of young PewDiePie) - before introducing a slew of new features to look forward to. There are multiple birds to choose from, new gameplay options (including EZ mode, battle royale, and a basketball challenge), and a story mode featuring an overworld map straight out of Super Mario World.

I remember being in high school, genuinely considering selling my phone with Flappy Bird installed, because it was unavailable for download and everyone was obsessed with it.

i highly suggest everyone is hesitant with this, as the copyright was scummily acquired by cryptobros because the copyright was left to die by the original creator as the leaderboard has said in the video

based on what people have discovered of it, (including a crypto coin LOL) there's going to be a whole lot of scummy business practices. all i can suggest is to not support this project

edit: dong nguyen, the original creator, has come out to confirm he never sold the IP, and has zero involvement with the project. he also does NOT support crypto.

I wouldn't really celebrate this. The copyright was acquired by some cryptobros through really shady means and the original creator has no involvement. The new 'owners' are already showing they want to use this to shill out scammy NFTs and orher weird stuff using the game.
