“Train is a band that went off the rails over the years...” I can’t help but feel like that is the perfect analogy for a band called Train.

With Alien ant farm, they actually got Jackson’s blessing to do the song, and HE loved it.
They also never set out intending to do it to start with. The singer said that the bassist used to play the baseline of the song at concerts and the crowd instantly knew what it was and loved it.
They got ahold of Jackson’s people and asked if they could do the cover, never thinking he’d never say yes, but he did, saying it would only be released if he himself liked it.

Didn’t know Bradley Cooper was into rock music. Looks a little different with long hair 🤘🏻

“How You Remind Me” by Nickelback is a song I still think is a full on banger and I will very much defend it.

Alien Ant Farm definitely had a lot of good things going for them, and I thought it was a shame they never got much attention after the "Smooth Criminal" cover. That was a damn good cover though.

I'm a casual Nickelback fan so it made me happy that they made the list. My favorite song by them is "Never Again." Its a narrative song about domestic violence and it makes me so emotional every time I listen to it.

Over the years I've weirdly gone from being indifferent to Black Veil Brides to being a casual defender of them. Even if their sound and schtick get a bit repetitive at times, I can't really HATE it - it's escapism and theatre for sad, lonely kids and as someone who grew up on MCR I appreciate that even as an adult. Plus that whole 'Wretched and Divine' album is pretty good, most of their other albums have really solid and even fun guitar work, and Andy Black's lower, gritty voice is pretty different from your standard high-pitched 'emo' singer's that even their cheesiest lyrics feel powerful. mostly.

I’m not a die hard fan or anything but Staind has so many good songs that you can tell Aaron poured his emotion into. Staind’s music helped me through some tough times back in the day and I get why Aaron isn’t liked but man Staind had a lot of good shit

Funny story: I went to High School with Jynx from Black Veil Brides. His real name is Jeremy Furguson, and I got to hang out with him a few times and can confirm the guy was amazing... he was always into the hair metal stuff, but could play everything from Randy Rhodes flawlessly. I can confirm he was, indeed, an outcast, much like myself, but a cool dude none the less. But seeing him in a like that... not shocking in the least.

I feel sorry for BVB. They're a really good band with some heavy tracks in their catalogue, but they just got caught up in the emo era that everyone loathes. I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a fan

So glad to see Movies by AAF get some love. It's honestly one of my favourite feelgood songs ever.

The Alien Ant Farm entry does make me think of a topic: A list (or a series) about One Hit Wonder bands that have good songs, but can't escape that one hit in the eyes of the majority.

I actually like Hollywood Undead but can understand why people don’t.

I'm on the fence with Five Finger Death Punch - I like their music, but dont really understand why they get so much hate.

Honestly, Burn It to the Ground is another really cool Nickelback song in my opinion, it’s heavy as hell and that guitar riff just kicks ass

I’m just gonna say it: My Own Prison is a legit good album
