Legalism: a doctrinal position emphasizing a system of rules and regulations for achieving both salvation and spiritual growth.

Now a lot of us, when we hear the word legalism in the context of the church, have been hurt by church because of this idea. You may have heard, "You need to do this or else God won't love you." Or maybe, "You won't be accepted if you don't do this." Whatever it may be and however you have been hurt because of legalism in the church, there are only two real possibilities: either we have to work for God's love and forgiveness, or it is freely given to us by faith in Jesus. And the Gospel of Jesus is clear on this.

Amen pastor. Just imagine, not allowed to wear your married ring in a church or not using allowed to use one in the wedding ceremony, and claiming the bible says no married rings...the bondage of legalism

There are only 12 apostles. Read Acts for the qualifications of an apostle. Matthias is the 12th and last apostle and his name along with the other eleven are written on the pillars of the New Jerusalem.
