They built an almost identical wall on the Poland-Belarus border. The problem was people would put a jack in between the metal slabs and push them apart to go through. So they had to redo the barrier and install horizontal slabs to hold the vertical slabs to prevent them being pushed apart by a jack

the wall is just there to slow them down and give border agents a chance to get there! If it were a solid wall it would be a huge wind breaker and require much more support to hold it up. Its also there to mount camera's on and allow border agents to closely monitor each section.

My company was experiencing frequent, expensive, theft and vandalism issues. We had the whole facility surrounded by electric fence. Have not had an issue since.

The wall isn't designed to totally stop illegal crossing.

It is designed to slow and discourage crossing while marking our border.

There’s been videos of gas powered metal cutting saws cutting through it. They should of or should add in an internal small bar interior. Prisons have done it so if the bars are cut through the internal bars just spin. I’d suggest a possible wired interior that designed to catch and bind up the saw.

South TX resident here. It's necessary to point out that parts of the southern states already had existing walls. One type of those walls is like the one the man was climbing. The other type is the cylinder walls like the one the border patrol was looking through. Supposedly, these new walls are much harder to climb and cross from the top. We will see, I guess.

It should have a negative angle on the unauthorized side to make climbing more difficult

Would’ve been better if they would’ve curved the top over toward Mexico side so if they are able to climb they would be upside down at the top. Would be harder to get over. Just a thought.
