I have the old Genie Garage Door with a smart switch for programming using smart learn button, not dip switch.
Here are steps.
Genie Promax: Chain Glide 2 --- model: PCG700ML or other models
1. Press and hold the program button on the remote (located inside the battery compartment) until the light on the remote stays on
2. Press the smart learn button located on the garage door opener. A red light should start blinking slowly.
3. Slowly press the desired button (button 1 or 2) until the red light on the opener stops blinking and turns solid red
(should be 5 times).
4. Wait until red light goes off!
5. Press program button on remote (the one inside the battery compartment)
6. Finished!!

Great video! I know this video is old, but maybe you still get your alerts for comments. What are all the internal switches on the right side of the clicker for? Is that for a different type of programming? I'm hoping I can get mine to work with my brand new Chamberlain opener. My last one was a 20 year old Genie. Still going strong to the day I had a new garage door installed recently!

What about the little toggle switches inside the controller? When do you use them? I thought they have to be switched to match the toggle switches in the opener? Thanks!
