I think it's a solid series of upgrades, glad Roland was listening to all the feedback. But I do wish there was a little on screen select button to flip control between Master & Headphone volume. Like what they do for rimshot/rim-click.

I just got another TD-17 (having regrettably sold my first one 2 years ago) and I've got to say, these new kits, especially that #1 BigWoodShell sounds absolutely killer! I love it!

Excellent analysis, thank you for going into all of the details. I was also suprised to see so little memory available and more of it used up now. Oh well. Still a nice piece of kit and happy to see them doing substantial free upgrades like this.

Can’t decide between this and the Yamaha DTX6K3-X. Are these new kits putting it ahead of the Yamaha? I know the punchy sounds are better stock but no Bluetooth hurts. Do all the extra features make it better than the Yamaha for playing at home with music?

Which hihat do you use with the td17? I heard that the vh 13 and other two piece hihats like the ATV ones are quite hard to set up with the td 17. Did you have similar problems?

I just installed the update today on my td-17kvx, but haven't tried it out yet. I just had to order a new cymbal as one of my cy-12c's pretty much died. I had to buy a usb sd card reader because I had no card reader on my windows 11 desktop. And I have a chromebook which can't be used anyway.
Tomorrow I'll start digging in to the new version. Thanks for the preview.

I'm looking to upgrade from the TD-07 to the TD-17 sound module. Do you know if the transient manipulation feature was introduced in version 2.0?
Since I plan to add some external kit, I'm curious about the limited memory of the TD-17. How much space does each kit take up?
