*Pro-Tip - Don’t forget to chamfer your edges. My jig is constantly falling off my bandsaw and will help prevent cracks and damage with no sharp edges

As far as angle…wouldn’t it be best to figure out that the angle of the kerf is going to be once the wedge is in? Probably determined by the angle inside the eye. If all the angles match, the wedge will have full contact with the insides of the kerf for maximum friction. I have had wedges work out from being too steep. Those and other axes I’ve pulled apart show where there is and is not good contact. Started driving them part way, then pulling them back out and checking the “friction pattern”.

Thank you for demonstrating the jig, , I'm new to making handles, and fitting old axe heads, and this sure beats free hand cutting of wedges, , I've enjoyed and learned from your videos, , so again, , thank you very much

If made shims with similar jig, various sizes for router and wedge stairs. For general use doors and blade is flash with jig and runs in saw track dado, make a bucket at a time as you just push past and falls in bucket.I learned from stair builder, but seen idea used by many a carpenter, they usually do it on table saw, more risky
