My first memory of this song was driving in the car with my dad when I was young, maybe 8 years old. My dad is a very quiet and reserved man, a listener rather than a speaker. As soon as this song came on he didn’t say a word he just turned it up and belted out the whole song. One of my favourite memories I cherish. Id never seen my dad that into anything before that day. I’ve never seen him belt out/sing a song since. I doubt he even remembers it. But he said every word perfectly, even the intro at the start haha. I had absolutely no clue what was going on but it was certainly awesome. Shoutout dad he knows I love him :)

I am born in 1959, but I will not grow old with this band. They had perfect hits...
I mean in the original composition:
Brian Connolly – lead and backing vocals (1968–1979; died 1997)
Steve Priest – bass, backing and lead vocals (1968–1982; died 2020)
Mick Tucker – drums, backing and occasional lead vocals (1968–1982; died 2002)
Andy Scott – guitar, keyboards, backing and lead vocals (1970–1982)

"Disco" mit Ilja Richter und "The Sweet" aus UK - Jugenderinnerungen eines Babyboomers aus dem Ruhrgebiet, der bald in Rente geht. Ich liebe diese Lieder bis heute. :-) Noch wer aus meiner Generation hier, der diese Musik nicht aus dem Kopf bekommen hat? 🤔

Way ahead of their time. Many modern musicians owe an applause to theses lads. The 70 produced some excellent rock.

I am 58 and realise now that this fantastic band were my introduction to heavy rock nearly 50 years ago .
Literally years ahead of their time in terms of guitar sound, vocals and image .
