What a great video. I just recently got hipped to this idea of really prioritizing sounds as silly as that seems. I've mixed intuitively for years and its fine but I went down this trap of a rabbit hole as you mention early in the video. I'm now correcting things and thankfully it's a conceptual(mostly) correction which can take place immediately.

Great advice, lower midrange build up is the most important but mostly overlooked part of mixing, and trying to get everything heard all of the time is just not physically possible, trying to get that over to bands when they hear the mix in the various stages is my biggest problem, 20 guitar parts but only one can carry the making these decisions can destroy a mix
