This movie was filmed in a field less than a mile from my house when I was a kid, ended up working for the farmer that owns the field when I got older. Kinda cool to see how popular the movie got and how many people got to see this random field near my house!

Wow the plot twist was something else! Reminds me of a Japanese WWII soldier who though war wasn't over as he was hiding in the forest for well over 10 years after the end of the war.

It's not until the mid point I realized Ivy is actually blind xD.

Ivy and Kitty have the sweetest relationship I wish it was explored more.
Also, the mangled animal corpses were not the elders, Noah had a sociopathy disorder.

I really liked this movie, but just realized one of the original elders could have gone for the medicine.

If no one has seen the speech that Lucious gives Ivy on the front porch you've got to do it. It's SO well acted. I've never felt so much emotion through a guy whispering and the other person's complete silence.

Seeing those spikes brought back memories I've long since buried. Those were too disturbing. It gave me genuine fear of branches for like a week.

Say what you will about this movie, but you can't deny that its original score is absolutely beautiful

Holy shit the cast!
Today you can make 10 AAA movies with half of this cast.

this was a great movie... the problem is it was marketed as some kind of horror/monster film and it was nothing like that. The real tragedy of this story is they started the village to get away from the "violence" of modern society and they still couldn't escape it, because one of their kids ends up stabbing the other one lol

I want a sequel with the feds busting in and all the Elders are arrested and the people born in the town have to deal with adjusting to modern life

I saw this movie with my mother.
Mom always tells me, it's the human's that are the real monsters.

This is my favorite M.Night Movie. It's not quite as streamlined/popular as Signs, but it is by far the most realistic movie he's ever made. This movie could actually be playing out in the real world somewhere. Maybe not the nuanced details, but the overall scenario is plausible.

Also, this movie capture's Bryce Dallas Howard at her most beautiful. Pale clothes on a fair-skin really highlighted her natural ginger beauty.

I'm pretty sure I came across a few villages just like that when I lived in PA.

The elders think they're doing what's best by keeping the villagers away from harm but in reality they're all just cowards running away from reality and dragging other people's lives.

Seeing this after Scary Movie 4 brings things into perspective as I never got the reference 😂

Ivy truly loved lucious as she was willing to go to town before even knowing the truth.
