there is 3 reasons why solo is better on some occasions:
1. You gain more cash per round
2. You can place more towers
3. They can steal your spots and when you ask to delete them they say no

1. Some don't have robux to have their own private server.
2. They are afraid that their strat might fail because of a player.
3. For Hardcore, they want to grind gems because of what they searched on how to grind gems fast in tds and they might have saw Egg's strat which is suppose to be a solo strat.

I can understand where these “toxic” players are coming from. Not everyone has a vip server, and they were probably don’t know about the free ones out there either. Maybe they wanted to speed run, try out a strat, etc. Having another player join you would make that much more difficult because of the cash decrease. I wouldn’t judge them too harshly on that.

As a person who does trio, solo and duo often we just leave the match the moment they get in or the rare ocassion of us and a rando just joining is quite painful because they are one of the most annoying to deal with.

I usually find it easier to play solo because wave bonus it better, and you can place more towers. Also most people can’t afford private servers.

I feel like it’s fair to be a bit toxic when you’re yelling “SOLO” and someone still decides to join, same for duos and trios. Maybe you just wanna try strategies with your friends and you can’t afford a vip server.
