She seemed like a genuinely sweet person and she was fun to watch, even if her recipes were wild.

I'm 5'5" 292pounds, 32 years old and you give me hope.
I've been losing weight just not very quickly, I don't have a problem eating healthy food, I can meal prep and eat it no problem, I can eat broccoli all day and all night, I've switched to brown rice instead of just having white rice. My problem is I've been stress eating junk food since I was a child because of trauma issues. The hard thing is to stop stress eating. It's like someone having a cigarette when they're stressed. I've cut back quite a bit but it's a struggle. I am currently saving up money to start therapy.
It's a lot deeper than a lot of people seem to understand or want to understand.
I've also started being more active, I swim for a few hours a week, Thursday I was swimming for 4 hours. I've started going to the gym once a week on top of the swimming once a week. I just need to stop stress eating.

I remember watching her video a few years ago when she made buckeye balls for Christmas. She said something at the end about giving them as gifts or if someone comes to visit and i thought she was so sweet. Rest in peace Sara.

She had the sweetest, most positive and encouraging attitude. She endured a lot of ugly comments. I was shocked that people spoke to her that way. Thank you for your kind words about Sara and her channel, Sir.

Rest easy Sara. It's so sad that she was trying to make changes to the foods she was making for herself and her husband. Much condolences to her entire family 💚

Sara was just a kind, normal personality that happened to be big and run a food channel. She never caused or came into drama and I never heard a word against her. I hope she rests peacefully.

‘Simply Sara’s ‘ full name was Sara Marie Salyer Potter . In 2015 Sara had a serious infection which resulted in pneumonia. The infection went septic . The doctors put her in an induced coma . After that medical emergency thankfully, she was fine . Her passing away is really sad . She was a lovely woman and very jolly . Whenever I asked her questions about cooking, she always replied . RIP SARA 🙏💖✨❤️🙏

I absolutely loved Sara. I had been following her for years; and she was such a sweet person.

I had a bowel obstruction myself back in 2010 and it was the worst pain ive ever had in my life, they also had to remove some of my dead small intestine. I also had to have four blood transfusions and I still struggle with iron issues and certain vitamin deficiencies till this day. I'm so lucky to be alive.

I can only imagine what she was feeling prior to being admitted to the hospital. My condolences to her family.

Crazy ironic, I had sepsis from diverticulitis back in 2015. It was horrible! I was 2 days from death (according to ER Dr)when I finally went to the hospital. Fortunately I didn't have a blockage or need surgery. I spent 3 weeks in intensive care. The sepsis or the antibiotic treatments (not sure) left me with severe neuropathy and 30% deaf. I spent 45 days in inpatient rehab learning to adapt to wheelchair. After an additional 2 years of outpatient rehab, I am finally able to walk ( although limited and neuropathy makes it painful) Still so happy to be alive to see my first grandbaby. RIP Sara ❤🙏

Thank you for being so respectful to Sara ❤ she was obviously very much loved by the community

You could say she was actually promoting positive habits because she was promoting preparing your own food. That’s worlds better than mukbanging or eating restaurant takeout.

So sad 😭 RIP ❤ it is extremely hard to change your habits in your 40’s but it IS possible! I’m living proof! I’m down 160 pounds now and still going strong! So anyone out there that’s in that situation right now if you read this, don’t give up! There is hope! ❤

I wasn't expecting this to hit so close to home for me. That's really similar to how my dad passed in 2020. Bowel obstruction, burst, sepsis. It's really hard to see people go that way. It's miserable. I wish it on no one. At least she is no longer in pain.

Thank you for being respectful. She suffered way too much torment & criticism. I watched Sara almost from the beginning. IDK but I always got the sense that she had an underlying medical condition that, at least in part, caused her obesity. I remember at least 1 extended hospital stay that seemed to elude to that. I will miss her.

I was so sad to hear she passed. I also had a bout with sepsis and almost died. It is the scary most painful thing I’ve ever gone through including childbirth. I always found myself smiling watching her videos. She will be so missed.

You need to know more about her before assuming things about her weight. Sara was an amazing human being. She had a very hard health journey. She was on a ton of streoids that made her have a heavier look and a rounder face. She was a walking miracle who survived deadly pneumonia. She had to wait for one of only 2 pneumonia machines in her state and she was very lucky to get on that machine that saved her life. Unfortunately, she had breathing issues for the rest of her life, and she was on lots of steroids to keep her alive, and it caused a lot of weight gain and fluid retention. I'm truly sorry for what she experienced in her passing. She was very fearful of hospitals after all she had gone through. Also I owe Sara so much gratitude. She used to prepare food for her husband and she would not use processed meat for him and she explained it was due to his tourettes. My daughter had just been diagnosed with tourettes and had one of the worst cases in the state of VA. My daughter was in pain from alll the tics and even posted vids to show awareness of tic attacks. My daughter had no relief until I saw Sara's videos and brought the information to my daughter neurologist. The neurologist said they often cut out sugars and dyes and processed meat for migraines and she said it makes sense to try for tourettes. It improved my daughters tourettes by 80 percent in less than 2 weeks! I left Sara a message thanking her form the bottom of my heart. Don't look at Sara as a poor soul who dodnt understand health or her own body. She did. She had a lot more going on than meets the eye. That many steroids to save your like daily changes a person size and appetite and it isn't as easy as change if food or exercise. Please know she was kind and loving and only had smiles for everyone.

Take care of yourselves with love, but honesty. Stop tolerating your own nonsense and do what's best for your health, please.

Rest in peace, Sara.

I was introduced to her channel with her (maybe infamous) macaroni salad video. She got winded opening a bag of shredded carrots. It was difficult to watch. She seemed very sweet and I was hoping she would turn it around for the sake of her health. RIP.

This is very sad, but it's just inevitable man. People need to normalize talking about this shit before people die. It is an addiction and it is 100% fatal and it isn't disrespectful to acknowledge that.
