One of the best discussions I've ever seen on bike fit and positioning. Sorting out the jigsaw puzzle of how the different adjustments interact with each other is usually overlooked. This was explained very well and demonstrated even better by how this effected how the rider's pedaling subtly changed.

Without doubt the best explanation of bike fitting I have seen/heard anywhere in the 30 odd years I'v been riding. I always assumed that the longer the leg meant the longer crank was required!

Absolutely fascinating. It just illustrates what could be incorrect on your own bike. Excellent stuff.

Very neat video on explaining all that you have done to get your bike.

Very interesting. Far more comprehensive than I’ve seen bike fits before.

This is next level. The amount of knowledge Paul has is seriously impressive. Kind of understand why a bike fitment should cost what it costs. Dont even get this level of info from any doctor, accountant, lawyer and we all end up paying them top dollar!

Clever stuff. What a clever rig. You are going to end up with a mind blowing bike.

How far did you cycle over the duration of this video? I am disabled with Spina Bifida from birth. My parents were told I probably would never walk let alone ride a bike. Thankfully, I proved the experts wrong. When I was in my teens, while being fitted for a wheelchair we stumbled across an adult tricycle (pashley picador). Anyway, cut a long story short over a few months I built up to 70 miles a week. Unfortunately, I don’t have space for it anymore.

That was great. The last bike fit I had was a Chas Roberts, 25 yrs ago, they made them out of a material called steel back then

Cracking, as always. Thorough doesn't even get close.

Hello buddy. Ok, hands up, I didn’t think this would grab me, but, it has. The adjustments have just blown my mind in terms of what they cause/achieve.

So much more technical involvement than I had on my bike fit. I would highly recommend a bike fit if you plan on spending many hours in the saddle. It takes a few hours but well worth it. Great video PP, looking forward to your choice of group set. 🚴🏻‍♂️🚴🏻‍♂️

That is proper. I had the same experience with my bike fitter when I did my Body Geo fit from Specialized. Biomechanical fitting is very important not just the actual fit of the bike. Awesome job guys!

Wow! Blown away by the level of detail and knowledge demonstrated in this video. Another great video (and calories burnt!).

Great video! I've been having a bike fit (based on the Steve Hogg system) for every bike I've owned since 2014 and I would never buy another bike without having this done. 👍

Traditionally, crank length is related to height or leg length. That is what the tech and experience now brings to fitting someone properly. Would it not work to just adjust the saddle position slightly? Also, your body adjusts to what you use a certain amount right or wrong. Many newer approaches have moved away from the knee to axle plumb line. But that may just be the simplest way to explain why.
It is interesting that you have chosen an integrated bar and stem. Aesthetics aside, does this not complicate future ability to tweak one's position? Like putting a fixed back racing seat in your road car, once there you can't change it like a normal sport seat.
Like the series and exploring your new bike and how you are reaching an audience beyond to the car enthusiasts.

Very interesting Ped. I have had a bike fit before but the one you had was way more through! They didn't look at my bar width or height. I will have to check those out. Really enjoying this series, thanks for sharing :)

I can see why you were blown away! A very thorough bike fit and I was really surprised at the reduced crank arm length.I think most of us ride 172.5 mm crank arms as most bikes come with this length off the peg .I wish Paul was a lot closer to Derbyshire

Enjoyed that👍, the part with the shoe/ cleats & pedals fit made me wince, reminded me of riding with the left cleat on my shoe about 2mm out of alignment, rode the bike like this for 12 month, only noticed by someone riding behind when out training, noticed my leg slightly twisting at the knee, permanent pain as I've got older, so agree a very important part of your set up.
Can't wait for next week, all the Tec👍 I've never seen any of the gear sets or
selectors you'll be using fitted.
