As the others have said, this is flipping, not mirroring - if your component has a step or hole in it, you'll find that flipping it along certain directions will simply not work, as the position of the step or hole will be incorrect. Flipping along a direction only looks like mirroring with simple objects. Also, if you make your object a group or component, you'll have a much easier time selecting it...

SketchUp has no mirror option so designers should use this flip option or they have to install JHS power bar for Mirror option.

What if i dont want to flip it as a 3d object but as a line just like mirror in autocad?

If you want to mirror some 3d detail, this not working > This is 2d mirroring. !!! How this may happend in 3d object?
