If Perkins never had that car accident the day he was scheduled to appear on the Perry Como Show, ....he'd have been bigger than Elvis.

Go cat was the real deal. Ran into him while fishing on our local west tn lakes back in the 80s. He was always nice.

Carl was the real deal. He made his mark in music but he should have been a superstar. A man with loads of talent.

Awesome singer. When I was young I cleaned up cars for a Ford dealership and Carl bought his Lincoln’s there and I got to clean up his big white town car with a dark blue carriage top it look sharp I can remember him coming in to pick it up one cool cat! Jackson Tennessee!!!

Carl is a one man band: he writes the songs; he sings it; he plays the chords; and he does the solos :-)

That's natural talent right there. Honed through years of practise. Always seemed a genuine decent human being as well. He was a big influence on George Harrison.

I was 7 years old, in 1958 the time of this broadcast. TV was new to my family, but I remember my parents watching this show every Saturday night if I recall correctly. On that night, my grand parents would come over and watch the show as they didn't own a TV. " Town Hall Party"never missed at my house.

Carl was one of the best!!!!
I like how the blonde girl of the chorus is standing on the stage and clapping, she loves Rock and she shows it.

Didn't realize how talented and great musician Carl Perkins was it looks like he got swallowed up by a lot of the Elvis Hysteria but this guy was unbelievable. His guitar playing and music writing was off the chart greatness. I find myself looking for his live performances all over the Internet nowadays.

I was lucky enough to marry my very own Carl Perkins who was named after this legend. He sadly passed away two years ago. I miss him every day. He was a brilliant guitarist and singer just like the original Carl Perkins. God bless them both. ❤
