Yup the story about Leto's pearls of awareness after he exploded, being carried away in every new sandworm but not being in control of the bodies, just being dragged about for Eternity? Haunting!!!!

I actaully loved this one. It was fresh. Ans I love Herbert's writing. I was engaged the whole time. I thought it was pretty wild!!

I’m just learning of Herbert’s other works besides dune. I’d like to dive into them!

I downloaded the Kindle sample of Dune and have decided that I will read the first book later in the year. I did listen to the audiobook sample and found that I had some trouble the narrator in that sample - I am slightly hard of hearing so I need a narrator with a very clear voice. I am not sure which narrator this is, it is definitely not Scott Brick and I don’t normally have any problem with Simon Vance.

I've read all 6 of these dozens of times. I get more out of them each time. Herbert wrote a lot about humans being in situations where their level of consciousness is raised. These books will do that. tavi.

Yeah. The Duncan line continues. And continues. Then he finds some woman in the next book who is a sex goddess and he’s a sex god and they become tied to each other in a no-ship on the Bene Gesserit planet and there’s some girl who can tell the worms what to do and she takes a worm to the BG planet after Rakis (formerly Arakis (Dune)) gets vaporized and eventually the no-ship blasts off and they’re chased by some unknown presence with a web. Clear? Good. Oh, and the BG battle some line of psycho women and some guy named Teg leads the battle. The psycho women want the BGs destroyed.

And then Frank Herbert dies and his son and some other guy write a bunch of not so great books.

People who understand the books are called normal. Dune is a highly complex reading. I read it in my twenties and didn't fully grasp it. Now being older it's much more clear.

I think this one is the weakest, i really enjoy Herbert’s thinking about ideology, religion, psychology etc. But I feel like there was nothing but that in this book. I wish he would add more action to it. Because right now I feel like it was only Leto hanging around thinking about stuff and then wooops, the last 50 pages, let’s do something :D and I’m a bit dissapointed that he didn’t use Siona in the next book, as he presented her as someone very important. But still, even worse book by Herbert is great :D

Content not bad, treatment a bit cavalier perhaps? Jocular?
