Hey, can you explain how you do this one.

I've been doing it like this (but it seems to be wrong):
Question: 2x+4y=1
               3x-5y=7

2x+4y=1 x3                       =           6x+12y=3
3x-5y=7  x2                       =           6x-10y=14

2y=11  11 divided by 2 is 5, 5 so y=5.5


2x+4y=1

2x+22=1                       2x=21 x= 10.5
      -1   -1

x=10.5 and y=5.5 I know that it is wrong but I don't understand where I'm going wrong. Thank you.

can a simultaneous equation have more than one answer? so there are a number of possibilities to what answers you could have, because i'm doing an online worksheet but i'm getting them wrong, however my answers are correct when applied?

just when i think i got this right i end up messing up after i did the elimination method its the STOP that confuses me and its getting the y value that trips me up, the x is easy its the y thats fiddly

im doing the last equation-however, how ever masny time i do it i get q=1.3 and when putting values back into 3p+3q=15, p and q work out-however putting it into the other it doesnt???? what am idoing wrong??
