There is one of these on Ebay that someone painted matte black, installed a humbucker in the bridge, put a kill button where that front toggle to top it off you can see a chip the black paint and see the blonde finish underneath, so it was a blonde flame maple one like the one you have. Can you believe someone did that hack job to a classic beauty like that? Blows my mind. They want $350 shipped.

Those pickups split beautifully... I'm more of a metal guy but hell does this have some awesome tones... Super bright from the split, and nice and warm in humbucker mode. Awesome playing.
