I always enjoyed politics in prequels , this video is strictly about political life of Palpatine , not Sidious .

If you like this video, then you will enjoy Darth Plagueis one as well.

For people who think I misspelled " Democracy ", it's pun intended "demon" .

Palpatine declaring the Empire is my favorite political moment of all time.

The politics are part of what makes the prequels good yet underappreciated...

Such a trustworthy politician. We should definitely give him unlimited powers.

Palpatine's ability to manipulate everyone from the Republic to the Jedi, to Anakin, to Padme, to the Trade Federation to the Separatists shows what a great villain he is.

He didn't lie, He did technically lie down the power of "Chancellor" once he became the Emperor, so it did work...

Imagine when the prequels came out and no one knew Palpatine was The emperor from the OG trilogy

When I was a kid, ppl complained that there was too much politics in ep 1-3. Now they are my favorite part of the series

I don't get why people hate the prequels. There are so many epic scenes in it, this great logic behind everything, I love them!

This would be a good trailer for a Palpatine movie

"So this is how liberty dies... with thunderous applause..."
Even when I first saw this movie, when I was barely 10 years old, this sentence made me understand something about the twisted way evil works.
Congratulations, you managed to make Palpatine even more frightening than he already is

And this is one of the reasons why I love Star Wars prequels. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was the Empire. It took Palpatine years of planning, scheming, infiltrating and manipulating to achieve control of the galaxy. He was the master puppeteer and his journey to the top was believable, mirroring some events of our own history. That is far more satisfying than crushing all enemies in seconds using some lame Deus ex Machina. Sadly this is exactly what the First Order in the sequels have done. The New Republic was wiped out in seconds. Really? They had no other military bases or anything on other planets? It should have most of the assets of the fallen empire! It would have been far more interesting to see a major conflict between the New Republic and The First Order, instead of seeing R̶e̶b̶e̶l̶s̶ Resistance again...

I could also mention how Luke had to train a lot and endure failure along the way, while Rey just seems to win at everything and has no flaws, nor requires any training in anything... Buuut plenty of people have already covered that.

IMO the only good Star Wars film to come out of Disney so far has been Rogue One.
