How to Open HEIC Photos in Windows 10!

Some people have found that HEIC files are difficult to open in various apps and operating systems, and if you’re running into trouble on Windows 10, you aren’t alone. The standard Windows 10 photos app supports opening HEIC, but if you’re having trouble with a file, you have a couple of options.

HEIF image extension did not help at all, until I added the HEVC video extension, which cost me $1.29 CAD. Now both HEIC photos and MOV video files from my iPhone are working on Windows 10.

HEIF Image Entensions is inconvenient to use as you have to open the software first to view the images
Copy trans is a paid software after the trial.
Thanks for the info though I ended up changing the camera setting to save as jpg instead of heic. heic might be more efficient still not quite optimizing atm, I'll see after a few years.

I know 3rd party software is a drag but this does work exactly as he said and it’s discreet no icons and I didn’t even have to restart computer GOAT

I have Windows 10 with the latest updates and down loaded CopyTrans but still could not open HEIC files. What should I do?

Real HEIC File Viewer in windows store free worked for me. Not sure if there are better, it is first I found and it works. HEIC is annoying.
