The "I refuse" guy is extremely based because he refused to walk into the trap the baiter had set for him. The simple truth is that you can have both lgbtq rights and economic stability because they dont influence other whatsofucking ever and he was smart enough to see that

Ponytail guy is legitimately a massive chad. He immediately picked up that the guy asking the question just wanted to start and argument and then use that argument to either make his beliefs look good, or to get clout. It's like ignorijg a bully, by refusing to play along, ponytail guy took away any control over the situation that the interviewer had. Because the question is stupid, and designed to make people angry, and had no bearing on the real world.

This is all to say that when someone does this to you, you can just say "No." I have, seversl times. I have a former friend who would constantly try to start nonsense political arguments, and eventually I just decided to not even engage with him, because he wasn't interested in what I had to say unless it justified his way of thinking.
