How to sew LOG CABIN QUILT BLOCKS from your fabric scraps // #quiltingtutorial #quiltblock #sew

Показать описание
In this video I'll be showing you how to construct log cabin blocks as well as different quilt patterns you can arrange them in.
Log Cabin quilts have a rich and fascinating history dating back 200+ years to the North American West where settlers had very little and women would use fabric scraps from old clothing as well as feed sacks (which grain would have been shipped in) to make beautiful quilts with that could keep the family warm during harsh winters. Traditionally, the centre square of each quilt block would have been red to signify the hearth - the heart of the home - or yellow, signifying light coming through windows. I just love that..
Since those early days, there have been lots of variations on the log cabin quilt which you could read up on if you wanted to find out more about the tradition and heritage of this classic way of quilting.
Thanks so much for watching, as always!
