Sherri - Not only do I love your fabrics, but this tutorial on the mini 4” log cabin block is sweet! I wish I had the quilt shown on your table today, anywhere in my home!
Thanks for the warm fuzzies on this cold, cold day in North Texas.

You explained this ruler / block so well. I really understood it. I had been afraid of this ruler. Thanks so much!!

So if you didn’t have that ruler would you make the strips 1 inch wide instead of 1.5? How wide are the strips after you trim them?

Thanks for this video. They're super cute blocks! There may be some waste as others have mentioned, however, I feel if the blocks come out perfect and your quilt works out well, it's worth it especially if it's a smaller project, then it's not so much waste over all. I know you and Chelsi both have other videos and patterns showing/explaining other ways of making log cabin quilts without the ruler for those who may want to try that method with less waste which is a valid point for some. I haven't made this block yet, but I have the rulers and very excited to make a Log Cabin Quilt! -Robin Voak, Magnolia, DE

I made a wall hanging with all my red white and blue scraps from previous quilts using the 4” log cabin ruler.
It was really fun to sew different size pieces to each round and then use the tool for a perfect 4 1/2” unfinished block.

Wonderful. Thank you, Sherri. Excellent explanation. I have this Creative Grids Log Cabin ruler and a couple of the larger ones. Now, I feel confident to use them.

Maybe I'm not understanding this but why start out with such wide strips if you end up cutting so much off? Why wouldn't you just cut thinner strips to start with so there's not so much waste?
