The Mana Source is the most powerful card type? Wedge is the most powerful planeswalker confirmed lol.

Whats the Difference between an "Interrupt" and "A Mana Source"? An interrupt works and the Mana source doesn't make a video for four months.

A mana source isnt "uncounterable", it just doesnt use the stack. Tapping lands is the most common example of a mana ability, and that obviously doesnt use the stack and cannot be responded to.

during the time those cards types were in place and called "mana sources" such cards as Channel and Metamorphosis were also erataed to be mana source cards.

to further clarify, the reason there was a hierarchy of instant/interrupt/mana source, is because the stack didn't exist. so in order to respond to an instant you needed an interrupt, hence the reason why all counterspells were interrupts.

I always thought that Mana source referred to the act of a land being tapped to produce Mana.

Actually I think it's a better way to understand it using the batch vs stack system of thinking.
As the batch system (pre-6th) everything was put on a batch and the spells resolved backwards, (first in last out order)
As stated interrupts can only affect interrupts.
So once someone plays a Dark ritual the entire game has to stop and the batch must resolve unless someone else plays an interrupt. This can be used to stop any attempts to add onto the batch.
A mana source is just as the name states, it doesn't batch, in fact it doesn't resolve in a sense so nothing can go before it.
Batches were a thing of confusion...

I have alot of both those cards. But never realized they didn't make anything else a mana source. Just figured I never owned them. But to be fair Burnt Offering would have been classified as a Mana Source, had it been reprinted at the time. How bout a video on when they started doing offical Card Erratas even when the cards themselves never got reprinted. One of the cards that comes to mind is Phyrexian Dreadnaught. I swear the modes of playing it have changed a few times.

i lived through that and i swear there were more mana source cards. i know some cards said this ability is played as a mana source so maybe i was adding those second catagory ones to the first.

Until now dark ritual is very strong for example first turn dark ritual and can cast grave crawler bloodsoaked champion and deathrite shaman maybe you can counter one but not all of them... Before darkitual is very strong if you playing suicide black

I looked up the errata rules and don't see anything relating to an uncounterable effect, like 'split second.' Could somebody please elaborate on this, please?
The way that I see it in the current rules is "B: instant: you get BBB"

Rite of Flames, Desperate Ritual, Simian Spirit Guide, Seething Song, Braid of Fire, just to run a few off the top of my heads that would be considered “Mana Sources.” Yes, the card type isn’t weak, but I would not go to “the strongest card type in magic history”

I fucking miss interrupts... the way I've always thought of it was that they made instants work the way that interrupts did and got rid of the word interrupt. But wouldn't interrupt be the better word for it since you are interrupting someone's casting of a card to cast your own??
