It gives the appearance of shine because it is heavily silicone based😅, not necessarily a bad thing, but I would recommend cleansing well if you use this regularly. I don’t mind silicones in masks but I always side eye expensive masks that are full of cones, it feels like cutting corners and costs 🌚
