I'm a cosmetologist and i can tell you a cheap, cheap product that works better(doesn't smell better because it's fragrance free) and women have been using it forever. Cornstarch. Clap some between your hands and start running your hands through your hair. Repeat a few times and then brush it out of your hair. It makes it look freshly shampooed. It also stops your pets claw from bleeding if you accidently cut into the quick because your dog has midnight black claws and you can't see the quick. Yes i have accidently cut into my best friend's quick 2 times and cornstarch instantly stops the bleeding and it must stop the pain because my dog chilled right down after the cornstarch. It's good for thickening stews if you can't make a roux. I can't afford the expense of dry shampoo but I'm telling you cornstarch works better but doesn't have the fragrance added to the dry shampoos. Try it.

On synthetic wigs it works well too! Take the shine off

People, any dry shampoo does exactly that, the only problem with them is how. long this effect will last...

Yea it does work. I've had this dry shampoo for about 6 months but only use it in extreme cases. It definitely works

Dry shampoo pulls oil and gives a refresh. I’m black and use it sometimes to just refresh my hair. It really works

My mom is a cosmetologist and told me dry shampoo works correctly once it sits on the hair for a bit to absorb oil and then needs to be combed to remove it. So they probably sprayed it in their hair before the video and when they brush it, it "fluffs" up- because the way they're spraying it over their head would do almost nothing in terms of the product they're advertising

Just use cornstarch. I don't use dry shampoo. I tried it while camping for a week in the mountains and hated it. I remember cornstarch being used for all kinds of things. I listened as a kid to my elders. Ponds is great for cleaning makeup off your face and then use witch hazel as an astringent. Crisco is good for severly dry skin. Salt water gargle at sign of a sore throat. Oatmeal is a great skin calmer. Put oatmeal in a sock and place it in the tub and soak in a bath.

That's crazy. As a Black woman I dread dry hair. My hair needs all sorts of oil and moisturizer😂😂😂. If I let my hair go a week with washing it everyday my hair would be upset of all the oil stripping. It's amazing how much difference our hair is. I love learning about all hair types. It's not enough to just know your own hair. Interesting

dry shampoo is an absolute blessing if you're really late and can't wash your hair. doesn't always look perfect but with some brushing it works wonders. you can also make a homemade version i think; i used to use corn starch on occasion if i was out and my hair wasn't extremely dirty / just had gotten flat and i didn't have anything else.

such a lifesaver in college though. waking up with half my hair greasy because it touched my face in my sleep sucked for me

I have my hair long and thick because of the advice of my grandmother:
1. Applying oil 2/3 times a week by using the up-down method and massaging for ten minutes with liitlleextra cocooniion hair oil.
2. Monthly hair trims.
3. Rinsing with luke warm water to make the oils in the hair softer.

Editorial stylist here.. Dry shampoo is wonderful for volume once in a while. DO NOT use it daily, especially if you only wash your hair once a week or less. It will suffocate the hair follicle and slowly make your hair thin and fall out. You have to double wash with a good sulfate free salon shampoo every time you use a dry shampoo to get all of it off the scalp!!!
Same as hair growth oils. Great for a few hours BUT need washed out daily with gentle sulfate free salon quality shampoo to help your hair follicles stay healthy and happy!

It’s important to note, the models have bangs or face-framing pieces that are thinner, making it look more oily due to the length of those pieces…so the dry-shampoo will look like it helps dramatically because those pieces will visibly absorb more than the rest of the head with longer hair. It didn’t look as dramatic because she didn’t have those other shorter pieces.

All dry shampoo works like this. Not only dry shampoo but also talcum powder, corn starch, even loose face powder in the right shade works. Just make sure to brush or gently rub your scalp and hair thoroughly to make sure it gets distributed correctly so you can’t see the powder.

It totally works! We’ve used it for years in healthcare for people that are bed bound or cannot easily shower. ❤ the “shampoo” has components in it that absorb all the oil (along w/ the dirt the oil hangs onto), then you simply brush it out.

Living Proof makes an awesome dry shampoo. It’s actually less expensive than the cheaper stuff from the drugstore because the can lasts 10 times as long. It smells so good too.

Alternatively you can use plain cornstarch and a huge fluffy powder makeup brush to apply it. Brush through your hair and let it sit for a few minutes, and then just go to shake it out a little. You can spray perfume into the air then shake your head around in the mist. It’s almost the same result as the Living Proof but far less expensive. It just takes a bit longer.
