Rishi Sunak has responded to a racial slur made about him by a Reform canvasser, Andrew Parker, who was secretly filmed by Channel 4 News describing him as 'fucking [P-word]'.

The prime minister said: 'It hurts and it makes me angry … as prime minister, but more importantly as a father of two young girls, it’s my duty to call out this corrosive and divisive behaviour.' Parker was filmed saying: 'I’ve always been a Tory voter, but what annoys me is that fucking [P-word] we’ve got in. What good is he? You tell me, you know. He’s just wet. Fucking useless'

I don't like Sunak and I have called him every name in the book to my friends, family and colleagues, but I have never used that word to describe him. That crosses a line that shouldn't be crossed. You don't bring race into it, you just don't. I don't like him and won't be voting for him or his sorry party, but on this I'm with him.
