How to keep glasses from fogging when wearing a face mask

1. (works some of the times) Folding a piece of tissue paper and putting that under the nose bridge of your face mask or surgical mask. This will slow down hot air from rising up to the glasses.

2. (works better in my opinion) Using surgical tape along the top of the face mask or n95 mask to create a seal so the hot air of your breath goes out the sides or the front of the mask.
** Sometimes the glasses fog a little but only a small amount and rarely remains longer than 1 second.

Another good tip during COVID19

I just tried using double sided tape inside the mask and it works amazingly! Finally I can see 🤓

You're a Saviour, sir
You could have told us earlier. We've been struggling in examination hall last year but no choice it was suffocating blindly with lots of distraction. Finally, Got it!

I use an old trick I picked up in nursing. Doubled sided garment tape. It stays attached to the mask, not our faces & we even use it to seal the sides. It's easy to remove from the mask when you need to wash it, just peels right out. Dressforms actually sells it in a pocket sized metal case that's filled with the perfect length pre-cut strips.
We get ours at Target in the undergarment section. The pre-cut strips cost a little more & only come in 24 count. But if you are double masking you don't need to get a new surgical mask every single time, the dress tape still works no matter how many errands you ran that day & even stays adhesive if you're wearing makeup.
And sealing the sides doesn't effect your ability to breathe at all. We do it because our daughter & I both have a genetic respiratory issue (not asthma but things like strong perfume can slam our airway shut. We can both breath just fine AND we don't have to worry as much about moving through lines at the stores. When we move up to the next pre-marked spot we're not as at risk of breathing in the fine droplets of the people in front of us. Sounds extreme but our entire family has so far not contracted Covid. Even during the 3 times they had to shut my husband's work down because of Covid outbreaks. You can't be too careful when you're high risk.

I thought I was the only one having this problem cause I thought maybe I just have a high nose but saw this on my recommendations and I'm glad that I am not the only one struggling with wearing a mask while having glasses on...thanks for the tips!

At last, somebody who actually wears glasses and actually tried (and debunked) all the anti-fogging hacks! Thank you!

I'm 67, and the tape/band-aid method definitely had some problems. Not because it didn't work, but because the area of sensitivity is larger and far more sensitive on an older person's face.. I tried it with both tape and a band-aid, and the band-aid (just one) seemed to work better, but peeling it off was very problematic.
The tissue method seems to work, except that I didn't fold it that small, I left it wider vertically. I use a different mask (3-layer cloth mask) than the one you used.

Sounds great, I'll have to try those out! I'm an Amazon delivery driver and its not just annoying, it's actually endangering me because the combination of foggy glasses plus trying to walk in dim areas from my van to the house means I'm just about blind and frequently trying over things! Thanks for this tips!

I am starting my internship in medical imagery technician in a couple of days and I was thinking to get contacts lenses because of the fogging up of my glasses. YOU'RE A SAVIOR! Thank you for the hacks!

My preferred is to remove my glasses prior to entering the shop - keep them in your hands, then when you reach the counter place the glasses on the counter.
Then carry out the transaction and leave the shop, remembering to completely forget your glasses.
Then at some point later on realise that you've left your glasses somewhere and start to panic while frantically trying to remember which shop you lost your glasses in.
You can improve this method by doing it late in the day, so that by the time you remember which shop it is it's closed for business.
This is a tried and trusted method - I've done it several times so I can vouch for it, and every time I've carried out this procedure my glasses have remained fog free.

i always find myself in dilemma while walking on the road, whether to wear a glasses or a mask, its a battle of choosing between either you die from covid or an accident. as you've guessed.. i always prefer the glasses.(i certainly founded power with -2.75 makes me more vulnerable without glasses )

Fashion tape works to prevent glasses from fogging up. Pace the fashion tape on the upper inside edge of the mask so that when worn it can form a seal across the bridge of your nose and under your eyes. (Fashion tape is double sided tape used to hold clothing in place, sticks to the skin and is hypoallergenic)

A MUST-TRY! I have the WORST time dealing with glasses fogging up EVERYDAY with my masks with filter inserts or not. I like the Dr's idea of the tissue, and the public comment of the double-sided tape, and will test using them both at the same time. Also I'll test with the surgical tape. Praying these one or both of these techniques work.
