Billy Crystal was already famous in the 70s! That's why he was the celebrity not the contestant.

Um, Bill Crystal was already known for starring on the ABC sitcom "Soap", not for being on game shows.

I cant believe Tom Selleck didnt make your list and not even an honorable mention? He was on the Dating Game back in 1965.

I remember seeing Kirstie Alley on Password with Lucille Ball as her partner. I think she was making the rounds of game shows as a way to break into show business. It seems to have worked.

Vanna White looked so different as the contestant and Kristie Alley was so hot in the days.

Including Billy Crystal on this list is stupid. He was appearing as a celebrity on game shows because he was already starring on Soap, so he was already famous.

My vote goes to *Phyllis Diller, * who appeared as a contestant on _You Bet Your Life, _ with Groucho Marx, sometime in the late 1950's. ("Say the secret woid, win a hundred dollahz.")
How could you guys not even have mentioned her?

Billy Crystal? Billy Crystal appeared as a celebrity on all those shows. He does not belong on this list. "Soap" brought him his initial fame. He was terrific in it. If he hadn't been so popular he wouldn't have been on so many shows.

I never knew that Vanna White, the hostess of "Wheel of Fortune" (one of my favorite game shows), was on "The Price is Right" (another one of my favorite game shows) three years before she was made into a household name.

Behind-the-scenes connections between game shows just amaze me.

In fact, after Charlie O'Donnell died, two of the announcers who took over for him before Jim Thornton took over announcing duties on "Wheel of Fortune" were Johnny Gilbert (the announcer of "Jeopardy!") and Rich Fields (the announcer of "The Price is Right" at the time).

A lot of these celebs actually were trying to make in in the biz, their agents got them spots on a game show for visibility and exposure.

Aww Paul Walker was so cute even back then. Didn't know he had a sister. I had no idea Joey Fatone was on Nick Arcade! I loved that show.

Billy Crystal was on a TV show called Soap. He was already hugely famous!

Future Baltimore Ravens coach Brian Billick was on Match Game, and absolutely stunk! Also, if you count wrestling, Nick Bockwinkel cleaned up as a contestant on Hollywood Squares before becoming a four-time world's heavyweight champion.

How does Kathy Najimy not make the list or even an honorable mention? She was a civilian contestant on at least three game shows - Family Feud in 1981, Wheel of Fortune in 1984, and $25, 000 Pyramid in 1985.

I cringe every time she pronounces Olly Murs name wrong

Here's one that may surprise you. The late wrestler Nick Bockwinkel appeared as a contestant in a 1968 episode of the original "The Hollywood Squares."
