I just got my dad's old Poulan Pro 205 from 1985. It needed a $7 carb kit (the kit came with 5 rebuild kits) and it needed a fuel line which I had. She runs like new after some cleaning and tlc. I'm 42 years old and I remember cutting wood with my dad when I was like 10 years old with this exact saw. I was happy I could bring back something from my past. I have a Stiel MS250C but I love using the old vintage poulan. BTW, those foam filters are usually supposed to be oiled before use, not completely dry as you mentioned. I could be wrong about your particular model but most foam filters are designed to be oiled to work properly.

Thank you so much for the great tips. A friend gave me a Poulan Wild Thing and it has always been a pain to start but when I get it running. I am going to go through it with your tips to see if I can get it running better.

If you drop start your saw or another tool, you have a big chance you can break your recoil.mainly on easy start systems

Enjoyed this video on the Poulan Woodshark, model 1950. I have one of these and the top handle doesn’t move. Can you give me an idea as to what I should do to correct that issue?
