When I heard 80 pounds and then here that largest jaguars can reach 250-300 pounds I was like... Bro are you kidding me... That 80 pounds must have been a mistake

80 pounds? I think that is incorrect they're more like closer to 200 pounds. Females are around 130 pounds.

Basically all I got from this is that if they both weighed the same, the jaguar would easily destroy the lion. In fact I think a big male jaguar can kill a female lion.

I don't know about you, but I think Jaguars have the best coat of any animal. Especially the reddish-golden coat with its unique black striations mixed with white fur make it so freaking majestic.

To put it in perspective, Jaguars are recorded to have the most powerful bite force out of all of the big cats, according to researchers jaguars biteforces are around 1350 to 2000 psi, while a lion or a tiger bite force sums up to about 1000 psi, but even though the jaguar is smaller and yet has the biggest bite force I would sum up that if a jaguar fights against a male/female lion I would say either one would win, but just remember jaguars go for the skull not the neck ;)

Jaguars are the perfect killers, fast, agile and stealthy, with a tremendous bite force. Their only drawback against some apex predators on Earth (tigers, polar bears, lions...) is the size. If the size was the same, I find it hard to imagine any animal winning over a jaguar in a battle.

In a contest with any other big cat, the male lion's key to invincibility is his thick mane, which protects the lion's otherwise vulnerable neck and throat from bites and claws. The biggest big cat threat to a lion with a mane would be another lion with a bigger, thicker mane.

I say winner is jaguar.
It has enough IQ to not face a bigger predator face to face. A jaguar can easily outrun a lion and look for other oppurtunities to land a killing blow which it certainly more than capable of.
