It's strange how as a kid I hated Edge (as "heel" intended) but as an adult I now respect him for not breaking the streak, otherwise the matches involving DX the next four years wouldn't have been impactful during those times. Love him or hate him, he was just doing his job and decided what was best for WWE fans! Thank you Edge!

Realistically there would’ve been fallout no matter who broke it because a lot of people like myself really wanted it to never be broken. That said it would’ve eventually been more palatable had it gone to somebody who actually benefitted from it or needed it versus Brock who didn’t need it at all.

For me the streak should have always remained. Taker had the mystique and believability when it came to being an unstoppable force on the biggest stage and it could have been part of his legend. Don't get me wrong though I understand why the streak was broken.

The day after WrestleMania 30 on Jericho's podcast, Edge was actually saying Brock should have not lost to Cena and HHH and spoke of how impactful beating the streak after that could have been.

Could you imagine, reigns wins that 2015 royal rumble, gets in a feud with the undertaker and then breaks the streak in 2015 AND debuts the tribal chief / heel gimmick afterwards? Shit would've been amazing instead of forcing reigns into a role that didn't fit and gave him horrible scripts for years til like 2019.

Love him or hate him, Edge hasn't always been an angel in the past especially where the Matt Hardy and Lita situation is concerned but it speaks a lot of volumes for the kind of person he really is, everything he said i completely agree with and i've always respected his honesty even if you weren't always in favour of his words. Edge was already a made man and in the main event of Wrestlemania, he didn't need to break the streak and i fully respect him for that. The rub should have been saved for someone like Roman Reigns years later. Edge will go down for me as one of the greatest heels ever and one of the best to ever step in the ring.

I think right up til few hours or so before the match it was intended for Taker to beat Brock and then Vince spun it last moment to which he felt Brock would do it to add a feather to his cap so when Reigns eventually beats Lesnar it makes Roman irrefutable above all. But realistically it should of just been Roman to do it or Taker retire with it Intact
