Not sure if you have an updated video but you should also teach using animation layers. I put all my keyframe poses in one layer and all my inbetweens in another. Gives it more of a non destrutive flow imo. You can also turn on and off the layer to see the difference. I believe all the programs have them now. To me Its a life/time saver especially if you make a mistake or want to try something new or different and dont want to ruin your keyframes. When your happy you can bake down the layers and clean up your keys from there.

I'm installing maya now, I appreciate the tutorial! Idk why I am nervous tho lol. I am used to blender, and I can tell that the layout itself is a little different with maya

Love the tutorial. But when I was following along, the rig I downloaded doesn't have that mitten-like control to move the hand. I think it is because when I opened the rig in MAya 2019, it said that had mental ray nodes that weren't imported apparently. Do you have any solution for this? I tried downloading the Nvidia Plug-in but they stopped making those after Maya 2018.

As a begineer, I learned a lot form this video😃😃😃! But I want to ask something😅😅..
basically, i am learning animation in 3d..and it seems interesting to me...i like it and i am thinking to build a career in it. But basically what i have realised till now is that...for example.. to animate a character doing a bakflip or something...i have two options...either to set out the entire poses on our own..and for this anyone needs a very good knowledge of body mechanics and would be a long way...but this is time consuming and also at the same time...the results can be really good...we can also achieve age old tom and jerry like organic animations....and the other way of animating a backlip, we can just find a video reference... set keyframes and just set poses as per reference...this will also turn out amazing but is this not a cheating?
