Yes, you already know you need an awesome demo reel.

And you’ve probably watched tutorials and taken part in challenges to improve.

You’ve may have even taken a few courses or gone to school too.

I just started animating like 2 weeks ago and I never animated before. Today I finished my 1st walk cycle and rigging, and was thinking what to do next. I am so grateful for you man. I am sure this will save me months or even years of wasted time. Thank you!

This was beyond helpful! Graduated from a 3d animation program over a year ago, and have since just felt intimidated and overwhelmed by how unqualified I’ve felt, and not having any idea where to go from there. Now I know how. Thank you so much!

I've never done any schooling I'm 100% self taught and this was one of the most educational videos I've found. Thank you

I'm in. I'm on a recess break at Animschool, and I need some exercises to keep me focused. Let's start animating.

This is exactly what I figured out few weeks ago to improve my lacking body mechanics skills.
And OMG it took 15 months(after 5 classes) to finally recognize my problem.
Body mechanics is so complex as you said, and I got stuck after doing two acting shots with my low skills.
I never did small exercises on my own, just did long animation shots and I felt there's wall that I had to break through.
I'm taking a break for exactly 3 months to advance my skill set on my own.
Thank you so much for the video! It gave me such a lot of motivation during my break!

This is GOLD for anyone looking for an animation job! As an animator who's also sat in on demo reel sessions for new hires, I've seen so far too many demo reels with just upper body acting exercises. We passed over those 99% of the time because all it showed was that they were good at copying video references, but it didn't demonstrate they had any actual knowledge of body mechanics.

You're a lifesaver. You actually did t HAVE to make this video but you did because you knew it was extremely helpful. Thank you.

found my way here as an indie solo game dev unhappy with the way mocap animations look "too real" for a stylized game im working on. These tips will help me greatly as time is a precious resource to me.

I'm so glad I found this, I'm a beginner animator and I was trying to figure out what I should animate to get better, and why my current animations looked stiff, so I'm glad to have found this and to try it out
