Ring Motion Sensor Batteries: How To Change Them

We teach you how to change your Ring Security System motion sensor batteries. The Ring Security System uses CR 123 lithium batteries for powering the motion sensors.

The Ring Batteries can be removed by pressing the tab on the top of the sensor and pulling forward. Pulling the tab forward allows you to remove the face plate of the Ring Motion sensor and access the batteries.

How long do the Ring Alarm batteries last? The Ring Alarm System Batteries can last anywhere from 6 months to 2+ years. I have had a Ring Alarm system for almost a year and have yet to replace the batteries or get a low battery warning.

Do these sensors have camera in them where you could watch the footage or do they just sense movement?

My motion sensor doesn’t look like this one.
