Alitalia Flight 404, flown by a McDonnell Douglas DC-9-32 aircraft, crashed near the Zurich airport, Switzerland on 14 November 1990. The airplane with 46 people on board made a controlled flight into the mountain Stadlerberg, 5 miles short of the runway, because of a faulty ILS receiver. All on board died.

The plane would’ve dissapeared from radar around 1:35-1:40, meaning it crashed just a few seconds after their last transmission

Investigation said the first officer told the captain to do a go around but the captain didn’t listen to him this is the result.

This is the same date in 1970 (November 14th) that the Southern Airways DC-9 carrying the Marshall University football team crashed into a hillside near Huntington, West Virginia (1 mile short of the runway), killing all 75 aboard; one theory of the cause was altimeter problems resulting in the plane being some 300 feet below the Minimum Descent Altitude at the point the plane impacted the hillside. Both planes' logos coincidentally are the same dark green color. CREEPY similarities.

ATC did not notice that this plane was 1300 ft too low? They should have been able to see it on their scopes, not?
