I know it’s difficult to leave music, when it comes to the reason I don’t know it but let me tell you interesting things that happened to me when I stopped listening to music, my ability to control my emotions got stronger, music has a habit of making you feel what the singer is feeling, if the singer is sad and he is singing about heartbreak you will feel sad and heartbroken despite the fact that you didn’t go through anything that would cause you to feel that way, I used to listen to rock and that genre fills a person with both rage and energy, it makes him feel like fighting, it made me feel combative towards people despite the fact that they didn’t do anything that would justify me treating them that way, so when I stopped listing to music snuffing out my rage became almost effortless, second change was better sleep, I suppose the genre that I listened to caused me to be over energized in an abnormal manner and for very unnaturally long periods of time which made sleep difficult for me, but after I stopped I alhamdullilah got proper sleep, third change is my attention span and focus both improved, music has a habit of occupying your mind and sometimes making it difficult for you to pay attention, this is the third change, fourth change and this to me is the best change that happened to me, I began to actually enjoy listening to the Quran, music is addictive and it makes you want to avoid the Quran so that you can have more time to listen to singers, but alhamdullilah after I stopped I began listening to the Quran more than before and it helped me increase my knowledge about the Quran and made me enjoy it more than ever, these are the changes that happened to me when I stopped, when Allah commands us to do something we listen and we obey, he knows what we don’t know and now I’m reaping the benefits of that obedience.

For clarification: if you ask what is the wisdom behind certain ruling or ibadah you're still a Muslim and there is no sin on you because you admitting that is for a wisdom and you would like to know.
But if you say "why?" Those people whose sheikh talks about are just people who aren't submitting their will to Allah and just like to complain and hate, those are the kaffir ones.

Thats why we sometimes say you may be born a muslim but that doesnt mean you will enter the kabr as a true one.

Sometimes people genuinely ask why because when a ruling is explained with a reason, it is often easier to understand, appreciate and execute. This doesn't mean we should default to asking why, but it helps in many cases, i.e. alcohol covers your mind from thinking straight. Also, it shouldn't be the default because if we can't find a satisfactory answer, we still don't have the right to reject the ruling or to continue sinning.

I definitely understand your opinion regarding this topic. Nevertheless I think we shouldn't generalize here. Yeah, there are people who question the prohibitions that Allah set for us to justify their actions or in a way that they percieve their actions as harmless and a prohibition as unjustified. But there is a clear difference between those people and people that are intrinsically curious. Every prohibition or duty upon every Muslim was set by Allah subhana wa ta'ala because it is either for our highest good or it is more for our good than for our harm. There is a reason behind every duty and prohibition. May Allah subhana wa ta'ala forgive me if I have a bad mindset on this, I just reverted like 15 months ago but I don't see a problem in making research behind the reasoning of certain duties and prohibitions. I don't expect to always find answers - especially not immediately. I am just naturally curious - maybe because I am autistic. May Allah subhana wa ta'ala guide all of us to the straight path and protect us from what is bad for us.

This man just explained the basic problem with all Muslim nations - No questioning or critical thinking allowed!

There's a reason for LITERALLY EVERY RULING if you can't explain then just say that i can't do that, blindly following something will not make us a proper Muslim

But what about curiosity and wanting to understand? We can reflect but what if we do the right conclusion? Some things I feel like I need clarity on because I misunderstand why something is forbidden or what something means, but it makes sense when someone explains. I just don’t understand what I’m allowed to ask and what is forbidden

May Allah replace with something even better what all of us left for HIM subhanahu wa ta'ala and keep all of us steadfast on HIS Deen

If Allah made something haram, there's definitely benefit in avoiding that... for example the wearing gold part, from recent discovery, wearing gold can cause issue with a man's testosterones or something similar i dont quite remember....

I sometimes don't understand him, yeah we have to obey Allah but there are many logical reason for almost every prohibited thing and we keep discovering it day by day.
As for the music it's haram coz it alters our way of thinking and changes our mood by a huge margin + makes us feel like living in a utopia i.e far from reality coz it pleasures us in a different way.
Also it leads to many things like parting, dancing (in non appropriate places), noice pollution (in patties), rage, love etc.

I only listen to music while studying or exercising. And obviously if I'm watching yt or something and there's music in the background, but I don't count that as listening because it's in the background. Maybe its haram but I can't live my life so rigidly 😢
