This is one of my favorite Japanese language books and I have a lot of them. It's not a one-stop shop for grammar, but it covers so much and in such an interesting, useful way.

Yeah, this totally looks worth it! It would be a great third-party source to consult. I haven't tried this book, but I've found that reading native Japanese material, with targeted explanations of grammar, is really beneficial for your understanding of grammar and sentence structure. I recommend 'Breaking into Japanese Literature' and 'Exploring Japanese Literature' by Giles Murray. I don't think you've made a video on them yet, but I definitely recommend it. They have some draw backs, but on the whole, they've been very helpful (used along side grammar dictionaries and the internet). Great video, Chad :D

How did you guys like this book? :D I think it was well worth my time, but I'm always open to hearing what I should review next! Leave me a comment down here and tell me what you want to see!

Awesome review! Have you seen Japanese in Mangaland? It has 3 volumes and a kanji book. The first volume also has a workbook for volume 1. Don't know if there are workbooks for vol 2 or 3.

What would be the best resource for my 13 year old brother to learn Japanese from. He probably needs to start with something easier to learn at first

Is there enough grammar in here to pass N5?

This book is *ancient*. I've had it since high school(actually, it's the second copy I've got), but it is an absolute wealth of information. Since I make and read comics myself, this visual style of learning really sticks with me. I really recommend it, it really is a hidden gem amongst all the textbooks that are typically recommended. This is a book that you can grab and read for fun, and learn how it's applied in the context of Japanese media, specifically manga, of course!
