One guy has said that Athens assimilates different peoples more easily. Now that partly may be true due to its size, but at the same time, the chaos of Athens and the unfriendliness and suspicion that have been going on due to its size and the rise of crime I believe could make Thessaloniki much friendlier for a migrant in Greece, especially one who doesn't speak Greek. But it all depends what environment each person better fits into.

I’m not Greek but I have visited Thessaloniki several times and sometimes twice a year most recent July 2023, I like the city and people are more polite than Athens, I like Pereia but the city in that side is abandoned and lots of old cars and broken buildings to my surprise they are modern buildings
