Oh how I love the way that the owner credited the Architect, then the Architect did the same to the Engineer! This is Teamwork you guys!

I love her sense of style and attention to detail. Home is beautiful. The rainwater is a plus, smart idea.

This lady knows what she wants. I need her and the architect to help me build a house!! Amazing place. Especially love the little deck in the middle and the reading nook. And the egg chair. And the strawberry wall. Everything!!

This is breathtaking. All of it. Kristi seems like an absolutely lovely & grateful person.
I'm happy to see someone is actually LIVING and ENJOYING this beautiful home daily. What an absolute dream!

Also, I think the whole team made the budget go extremely far, especially for Alaska, where sourcing goods & labor is notoriously expensive.. So well done.

The owner’s passion for her beautiful home shines through her detailed description of her estate. Amazing architecture and engineering. The landscape is amazing as it blends naturally into the natural beauty.

I just love american architecture! It is charming, timeless and always expressive in a beautiful way. This house perfectly suits the raw nature of Alaska. I hope one day I can move to the US.

I really like how the Banker told her the house wasn't an investment. Sometimes in life, we want what we want, and that is our moment to choose anything that makes us happy. You can tell that the "Vanity House" makes her happy. She could also Airbnb it nowadays while she's traveling, and in that way it is an investment!

Nor well integrated on the coastline, as the other houses around. Bravo for rain catching. So refreshing to see US houses integrating ecological and sustainable concepts!

It is beautiful ! And you are so lucky not to have snow , I would trade 6 months of rain for the 6 months of snow I have to live in anytime .

It’s a good investment, as it’s beautiful and brings you joy. What. More could one want for their money, joy, beauty and peace.

Where are the B&W speakers and HiFi Rose audio system? I would want to take in a storm on the horizon listening to Vivaldi.

Interesting, did y'all disclose the square footage? Why not show the bathrooms? 8/10

People have no idea how much it costs to live anywhere in Alaska, let alone rural Alaska, where it's not uncommon for people who are already barely getting by to pay 20x(!!!) what we pay for electricity in the lower 48, where a jar of peanut butter is $20. Lack of basic road and utility infrastructure = $2M home. And good for her -- she deserves this exquisite place! She's delivering health care to Indigenous Alaskan children, deploying U.S. federal dollars that otherwise wouldn't be spent there. I think it's awesome that Ketchikan has people like her in it, bringing her expertise to the community and investing her life there.

That egg chair is the same price as an Apple Vision Pro. What? 😆
