This dish has its roots in the Indian Muslim community, where street vendors would carry rice and curry in baskets balanced on bamboo poles. “Nasi” means rice, and “Kandar” refers to the act of carrying pots on a pole over the shoulder, filled with rice and various curries 🍚🥘

Today, Nasi Kandar is a culinary icon, and Hameediyah serves some of the finest around. The dish consists of steamed rice paired with a medley of curries, meats, seafood, and vegetables - a hearty, flavorful, and spicy feast.
