Quick Look - Pro Micro Comparison (Blue vs Black versions)

Показать описание
I take a quick look at the physical differences in the Blue and the Black versions of the widely popular Pro Micro controller, which uses the Atmel ATmega32u4 chip.
Both chips were purchased through Aliexpress but from different vendors, but came in essentially the same anti-static packaging, and had standard header pins.
The main three differences is that the physical size of the primary chip is larger on the blue, which results in a physical layout of components to be different, which also flows onto that the black version has its pinout silkscreen on the back of the pro micro.
Their dimensions and weight are pretty much the same from an operational perspective, the footprint of the device unchanged, and the micro-USB port also unchanged.
From what others have said, the black version may be potentially more reliable, and from a logic point of view, the larger size chip means better heat dissipation therefore leading to running lower temperatures when being stressed, and therefore better performance in the long run.
