Swept Away - an intermediate piano solo by Jason Sifford

Swept Away is a mid intermediate piano solo for piano students that features a classic tango feel. A clever and comfortable way to work on arpeggiated figures and dotted rhythms makes it easy to imagine dancers sweeping across the dance floor as you play. The B sections gives students an introduction to 4 vs 3 rhythms, giving them a taste of more advanced repertoire down the road.

Swept Away is a romantic-feeling piece written in E minor. Written in 4/4, there are triplets throughout the piece, which feel natural under the hands because of the very clear “tango” sound and feel.
