Did Joe Alwyn not want to marry Taylor Swift?

I kind of believe Joe did want to marry her, but he wanted her to change some aspects of herself. He seems very much his own person and set on doing things his way. Being so private in his interviews, I feel that he would have wanted their future to be private in many ways as well. Taylor, being as open as she is, probably wanted more of a Blake and Ryan/Emily and John type relationship, where they could both be open to the press, help each other mutually in their careers, probably where they would reside in the US, New York or California. Joe seems to be more of a homebody type, where he would probably want to live and raise his kids somewhere in the countryside in England. Out of all her relationships, I think Joe had the most potential but likely both didn’t want to compromise for each other. I don’t think he had an issue with her fame, I think he probably had an issue with how invasive it could be, but I don’t believe that to be the only reason. Just my opinion.

The end of "You're Losing Me" sounds like she just wanted him to make some kind of decision in general. She sounded tired of indecisiveness when she's constantly keeping people and their feelings top-of-mind.

He wanted to get married I think. but he didn’t want to marry HER, a “pathological people pleaser”, a performer. He wanted to marry the Taylor he met and fell in love with during Rep who stayed out of the spotlight. But once she embraced that part of herself again after she healed (with his help which I will never discredit) I think he saw her and the relationship differently.

The song contains more information than just those 2 lines about marriage. I get the impression that Joe got so comfortable in their relationship that he didn't add anything to it in terms of many things. Not just marriage. It seems she probably wanted many different things and wanted to discuss them. But he liked the status quo and thought everything was fine. With everything. Stay awake in your next relationship, Joe.

Why would he want to marry someone thats day dreaming about another man? She wrote folklore/evermore back in 2020 and she has songs there that are clearly now about pining over the idea matty. So how are you gonna marry that? Im sure joe sensed some weird shit was going on in her. Taylor also talks about feeling trapped, caged and sick in that relationship. All because she wanted the rush of a new romance w matty. As a normal person in a long term relationship i cam tell you its mostly grays and blues with hours of sunshine in between. And that sunshine makes the rest of the relationship worth it. But she seems to be in love with the idea of love not the actual long haul.

I think Travis will propose in a decent amount of time. His brother & Kylie will encourage him & show him how to do it right. Travis wants a wife, family, and kids. She literally said she does too on So High School.

Joe has some confidence or mood issues or he was confused about their compatibility. He is very introverted, Taylor is not. Taylor is America’s Sweetheart not America’s homebody.

I absolutely believe in marriage but I know of couples who honestly don’t believe in marriage and believe that not being married has any bearing on their commitment to each other and are as committed as any any married couple. Maybe Joe feels the same way

It always felt off that taylor talked about him with such pride and admiration and a sparkle in her eyes, yet, when any interviewer asked about her, he either glossed over it looking embarrassed or dodged the question entirely. All of their public appearances looked like a giddily in love girl dragging along an embarrassed or irritated stranger. Any person actually in love with someone that successful and impressive would feel so proud to lift her up to the world. Enter Travis Kelce, who makes it very clear that he is her absolute biggest fan.

Faithless can mean many things but here it is about not believing the ONE/ or ending up with the one. Most ppl have faith in God, and have faith in love to eventually find the one. and get married. I think Joe said her that maybe he will change his idea about marriage and marry her but he couldn’t. Joe was not confident enough to stand beside Taylor. My sense is that it went the distance. Relationships end. They all do. My sense was that Joe wanted T to come back. He never anticipated that Taylor was about to meet Travis Kelse. He didn’t envision a guy like Travis or that he is so confident in himself that he identified the queen for herself and she recognized him. And Joe became a part of her past that day. It’s amazing to fall in love that way. My husband proposed to me on our 4th date. We were married for life. My guy died in my arms. So it can happen. When you know there is a line in the sand. Everyone else is past. It’s like the new chapter begins. I see a beautiful future for them.
