I tried this already with my two year old. I say in a calm warm voice: " son, look at mommy for a second. Mommy doesn't want you to And it doesn't work. He just gets even more infuriated when I try and get him to look at me. Trying to discipline two year olds is the hardest task I've ever had to face in my life. I don't want him to get used to the yelling que. I want the que to be subtle.

This works 100%. I can’t hear what my mom is saying now.

I tried to talk to my parents that yelling at a child, including me, is not okay, but they never believe me.

I never feel ok about yelling, I pray, write and talk to my friends about it, just when I think I have a grip, pow. It’s not long yelling and I as them to tell me to stop yelling, on occasion they do, I always apologize and say “ you’re right “. Then a few good days go by, I have an outburst then feel shitty again. I think it’s a habit. I will try getting still ❤

I needed this. I often cry and feel hurt because I struggle with yelling. Then I ask why am i yelling. Usually it's because I'm frustrated and tired but can't get rest at the moment.

Yelling at your kids just give them stress. Be as calm as possible to make sure they are comfy.

Basically treat them like the totally capable human beings that they are❤

So short, but a life changing lesson for me and my little boy. I always hurt for yelling at him when I thought it was necessary.

Thats great advice. Now try talking low while a pissed off toddler wails until the glass shatters in your cabinets.

This is so amazing and true. We do Pause, Deep breath, and then we discuss or give options. This has been a life saver with my 4 year. I adopted him from birth however he was born additced and has some issues steaming from this. As I have read prior this may be a short video but its life changing!!!

She's right. As a young adult, I just tune mom out when she's going off. She'll also throw in some low blows, but its hard to feel the love when its so unnecessarily loud...Like I'm standing 5 feet away, why are you yelling? Its even better when you hear that breath or see that look right before the sound starts 😂😂

Yes!Dr.Shefali thank you!for sharing .They yelled because that’s the most easiest way .and sometimes there’s another issues in their life that they really need to yell .Children is the receiver of that issues or struggle on their own selves..

My dad would laugh in my face if I asked him to stop yelling. Actually, he DID laugh in my face when i asked him to stop yelling at my little sister. She doesn't listen because she's lost all respect and all love for him because he constantly yells at her. I just do what i need to do and then a little extra so that I dont get yelled at. Dishes have become my therapy. Cleaning has become peaceful because it means that I might not get yelled at.
