My sister, niece and myself went to Italy in April and we visited Rome, Florence, Pisa, Tuscany, Cinque Terre and Venice, Montecatini, Lake Garda on a bus tour 8 day trip and we had the best time. It was incredible. Bought a Fendi bag and Hermes sandals there with no issue and saved a lot of money because you can claim at the airport for the taxes you paid on the items which are already significantly cheaper than the US. I calculated I saved close to a $1000 US on my Fendi first bag after receiving my VAT.

Really do prepare yourself. It’s a LOT of walking AND stairs and heavy bags are gonna ruin your time. Comfy shoes a light cross body and lightweight flowy fabrics. Do not carry a heavy bag trust me. It is torturous. I cannot wait to see you meet Luna! I still can’t decide which I want, I gotta a safe and wonderful trip!❤

I have been wearing the rag and bone Miramar jeans for a couple of years. I have them in three different colors and two different styles. No one ever clocks them as sweatpants and they are so incredibly comfortable. Highly highly recommend!

For an extra layer I always travel with a very fine large cashmere scarf that doubles as a blanket on the plane and a wrap for cooler evenings. It rolls up to virtually nothing. Regarding Birkenstoks I found them awkward and uncomfortable when walking on cobbled streets and piazzas, you know when your foot slips a bit and you step on the ridge that goes all the way round. If they have a strap that goes around the back they'll be fine.

Last summer I went to London with my mother and neither of us wanted to check any bags, I bought the Patagonia Black Hole MLC 45L bag. It’s a backpack or sling/crossbody bag. It fits much stuff. I know what Baggu bag you have, I have it too. This Patagonia bag is better for carrying especially if it’s heavy. Both bags are awesome! Good luck packing.
