What does it really mean to be properly hydrated?

💧 60% of the body is composed of “water”, but of course, not pure water, our fluids are combined with electrolytes, minerals, like the ones mentioned before in the infographic, and those fluids don’t only contribute to hydration but also to the creation of other fluids like blood and urine.

💧 I couldn’t find any scientific evidence proving we are supposed to drink 8 glasses of water a day. I believe the quantity of water needed by your body depends on your body, every body is different and it’s always best to listen to how you feel. Which is why I just drink water when I’m thirsty.

Hydration is also about listening to your body, just like you feel hungry when you need food, you will feel thirst when you need water so learn to trust you body and give it what it needs, for your water and minerals to work optimally together. 🔝
